Here are some of our Frequently Asked Questions.Have a Question? Just ask! We will be happy to add it to our list!

What should I expect during my first Stretch Session?

First, we need to make sure that you are cleared by your healthcare professional before you begin any new health and fitness activities. If you have any health conditions or restrictions, please let us know in detail in your initial paperwork. We will go over any pertinent information before we begin with your customized Stretch Session. We always begin with a range of motion test to assess how you move and to gauge how to give you the best stretch possible. Your Stretch Specialist will then begin taking your body through a series of stretches that should feel comfortable and effective.Once completed, we will then re-check to see if your flexibility has improved and then give you some homework to keep thing moving until your next Stretch Session.

What should I wearto a Stretch Session?

Please wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing such as workout attire or athleisure. Please do not wear any restrictive garments such as jeans or dresses/skirts as this will impede our ability to help you stretch. It is perfectly ok to bring a change of clothing and you are welcome to change in our restroom as we do not have a shower or locker rooms.

Will I be sore after my Stretch Session?

It is normal to feel some mild discomfort following a Stretch Session as we are moving muscles, joints, and connective tissues in ways they have not moved in a long time, likely. Typically, it takes about 24-48 hours for you to feel this and it is a healthy sign that we are making positive changes in your body. If during your Stretch Session you experience any discomfort, or pain, it is imperative that you let your Stretch Specialist know, immediately. We will address the situation and figure out a different approach that is equally effective and not uncomfortable. It is important to drink lots of water before and after your Stretch Session to help mitigate these sensations.

How is a Stretch Session different from massage or yoga?

Massage is defined as the rubbing and kneading of muscles and joints of the body with the hands to relieve tension or pain. The client is usually disrobed on a massage table and lotion/oil is used as a lubricant to help the Massage Therapists hands glide over the skin.Yoga is a fabulous and timeless form of therapeutic movement typically done in a group exercise format. You will be moving, breathing and holding your body various positions that you/instructor will be guiding you with minimal to no contact.Assisted Strech is a form of fitness instruction that is hands-on and customized. The intention is to improve your flexibility and mobility. Your Stretch Specialist will work with you by customizing your Stretch Session to your body's needs. You will be asked to move your body into different positions and the Stretch Specialist will assist you into a deep stretch once you are there. Clothing will be on at all times and no oils/lotions are used during the Sessions.
